Watch: Delay gets emotional; cries over Afia Schwarzenegger

                                  
Deloris Frimpong Manso and Ellen Korkor Asante, the lead star in Afia Schwarzengger TV show could not hide their tears when a premeditated plan to oust the latter from the show had to be squashed. Deloris, popularly known as Delay, had invited Korkor to the Delay Show to relieve her of her role as Afia Schwarzenegger and replace with a new actress.

Korkor is the third lead actress of the show, following Nana Hemaa who took over from Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa. As done previously, Delay who is the producer and director of the Afia Schwarzenegger show, periodically changes lead actresses for the show and replaces with a completely new actress. This time around however, the task proved to be more difficult as Delay decided to drop the bombshell on the Delay Show at the blind side of Korkor.

Minutes into the interview, Delay mentioned without mincing words that it was time for Korkor to leave the show, as agreed. Korkor however said she did not know that she was to be replaced on the show for another ‘Afia Schwarzenegger’ to take over the show. Amid tears, Korkor asked Delay to maintain her on the show because it has become a part of her, and she is now known for the show.

Delay Breaks Her Virginity – Explains Name Change

Businesswoman and media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso aka Delay who has created a virgin niche for herself since she got into the entertainment industry has gone back on her words.

On one of the episodes of her Delay talk show, the Oman FM presenter said that she is no more a virgin hence the change of name on her social media handles.

“Now I have changed my social media handle names, it is no more virgin Delay, the reason is simple, I am no more a virgin so I don’t see the need to parade myself as one,” she said.

Delay recounting her beginning days in 2010 in other posts advised people to work hard in life and not to pay attention to other people’s negativity about them and stay focused with whatever future plans they have.

This time around, we went around town to gather thoughts from the Ghanaian youth, about their last breakups, and here’s what we found out. Most people don’t regret breaking up.

Sandra, 19 years;

“I’m currently in a relationship. My last breakup was..sometime 2 years ago in October. We broke up because one of us cheated and it was sort of messing the whole thing up. We just could not connect anymore due to that, and… do i regret breaking up? Yes, cos definitely when you love someone that much and you guys have to break up, it’s really a bad feeling. And would i go back? Yes, because funny enough we were able to get back and we’re dating again. So yeah i think the ‘would i go back question’ and the ‘do you still talk question’ has been answered, because we started dating again after a year.”

Kelvin, 21 years;

“I’m dating. Okay..my last breakup was 3 years ago in 2013. Chale the girl dey lie too much. The girl dey lie too much man. I don’t really regret it though chale,..for me it be lesson so i no really regret am. I ain’t going back no more, i ain’t going back no more. You heard that Chris Brown track? Sometimes she dey hala me for Whatsapp, but i no dey mind her so she shun. I now get better girl so that’s it man.”

Diza, 20 years;

“I’m single. Its been two years since i broke up,..The guy was a flirt and a cheat, so we had to break up. I don’t regret at all. No i would never go back, and we don’t talk.”

Wife of Shatta Wale, Diamond Michelle Gbagonah popularly known as Shatta Michy has disclosed exclusively on Delay Show on Viasat1 that she had sex with Shatta Wale the very first day they met.

According to her, she was 17 then, and she had just gone to meet Shatta Wale for the very first time at his Nima residence and it all happened that one thing led to the other and eventually, they ended up having sex.

On how she met Shatta Wale, she said, “I met him on Facebook, and we became good friends on Facebook, I was then in Norway. When I came to Ghana, any person I asked about Shatta Wale, it was all about the negative, and it was all those negative stories I heard which got me more attracted to him because I was also a bad girl loading.”


She continued, “So he asked me to come over to his Nima residence, and after some good conversation, we ended up having sex that very day we met. Even though it was all supposed to be a fling, we did enjoy it, and I stayed in his house for some weeks before going home.”

Shatta Michy reveals that she has a shop where she sells hairs, accessories as well as will be opening a restaurant soon.

DPSI Wins Best School And School Of The Year Awards In The USA.

Afua Ansaa represents Ghana at the 89th Scripps National Spelling Bee

   

A 13 year-old girl, Afua Ansaa Manukure from the Ridge Church School, an international school located in Accra, has emerged winner of the 9th edition of the Spelling Bee national finals on Saturday 6th February 2016 and will be representing Ghana at the 89th Scripps National Spelling Bee in USA.

The Spelling Bee competition is a literacy programme for primary children between 8 to 13 years with the objective of teaching students the proper and effective use of the English Language.

Ghana has been the only African country which participated at the global level but the coordinators of the Spelling Bee have revealed plans to extend to Nigeria, Namibia and Kenya in subsequent years.

Participants at the 9th edition of the Spelling Bee national finals on Saturday 6th February 2016 in Accra.

According Mrs. Eugenia Tachie-Menson, the Country Director of Young Education Foundation (YEF), the 10th edition of the competition will come with modification in organization and preparation to improve the performance of the students.

GIS Marks Annual Sports Day With A Difference

      

Track and field competition was organized for students by the Ghana International School (GIS), a world class international school in Accra, to celebrate its annual sports day on Monday 8th of February, 2016 at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.

Students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the athletic oath being administered by the sports prefect, lighting of the spirit flame by the house reps and a 200m march pass by all partakers.

Participants showcased their unity, understanding and will-power in the various forms of sports activities such as long jump and flat and hurdle races to the admiration of their colleagues, parents and teachers.

Mr. Herbert Mensah, President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union and Guest of Honour, with the incoming principal, Dr. Ashun, behind the trophies sponsored by Mr. Mensah.

The School’s incoming principal, Mrs. (Dr.) Mary Ashun, presented the annual report and a warm address to welcome students, parents and invited guest present at the event.

Speaking to the press Mrs. Zenabu Akotoh, the athletics coordinator, disclosed that this year’s edition of the sports day was different as it involved students in track and field competitions for the first time in the history of the schools.

She expressed gratitude to her colleague teachers and students for their enthusiastic spirit which made the day successful.

Mr. Kwabena Kwakwa, a form three student who took part in the race, expressed excitement after he broke and set a new record for the 1,500m and 400m sprint.

Armed robbers post notice of attack on walls in Kasoa

                   

Some armed robbers have placed notices on the doors of residents in Kasoa in the Central region warning them of further attacks.

The move by the robbers follows the lynching of some thieves in the area in recent times.

Parts of Kasoa, especially Amanfrom have experienced incessant robbery attacks over the past one month.

Meanwhile, the Police in Kasoa have launched investigations into threats of attacks on residents of the area from the robbers.

The Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Samuel Winful wants residents to assist them with information in containing the attacks.

“Police cannot use magic to get the armed robbers, it is information that we thrive on, so if they [residents] are not ready to give us the information it would be very difficult to arrest all the armed robbers,” Supt. Winful said.

The Police have also warned the residents of Kasoa to desist from meting out instant justice to suspected armed robbers.

Aspiring Assemblyman dies after disqualification

                                           

A decision by the Electoral Commission to disqualify Edward York, who filed his nomination to contest yesterday's District Assembly Election at the Adra Electoral Area in Takoradi, in the Western Region, has sent the man to his early grave.

His disqualification was based on the new Constitutional Instrument (CI 89), which regulates the conduct of the election.

The CI 89, which was introduced recently, stipulates that candidate(s) who had attained the age of 70 and above cannot contest the assembly election.

Determined to retain his seat, when he received his ex-gratia of GHC2,500 at the end of the last Assembly session, he invested all the money into his campaign to print posters and T-shirts among others, only to be disqualified at the last minute, after the introduction of the CI 89.

Some candidates of the Assembly elections who spoke with The Chronicle in an interview have described the sudden departure of their 75 years old colleague, who is the immediate past Assemblyman for the Adra Electoral area as "out of shock".

One Assembly member told this reporter "anytime he meets me, he complains that he had used his ex-gratia to campaign only for the EC to disqualify him from the race".

Jordan Ayew calls Afriyie Acquah to assure him he’s no longer sleeping with wife Amanda Owusu

         

Our very reliable and close sources to Ghana Black Star midfielder Jordan Ayew have revealed to us that he has been able to call team mate Afriyie Acquah to reassure him he is no longer bedding his wife Amanda.

The Black Stars teammates appear to be back on good terms before linking up in camp later Monday evening following a shocking expose made in a leaked tape of Amanda.

Amanda in the leaked audio revealed she had a four-year fling with Jordan Ayew while describing his husband, Afriyie Acquah as a monkey.

She later revealed that her husband’s manhood is not as big as that of Jordan – one she enjoyed for four years.

The expose threatens to cause some friction between Afriyie Acquah and Jordan Ayew ahead of their arrival in the Black Stars camp for games against Congo and Rwanda.

But sources have confirmed to us that Jordan Ayew has spoken at length with Afriyie Acquah to eliminate any ensuing friction followed by the expose in the leaked audio.

Both players are expected in the Black Stars camp in Congo Brazzaville by Monday evening.
