Gov’t To Borrow More In 2015

GOVERNMENT  INTENDS to issue more bonds in its quest to use oil and gas resources to leverage the capital markets for the development of the energy sector next year.

Seth Terkper, Minister of Finance, who made this known lately to Parliament, emphasized: “This last initiative will involve the issuing of energy bonds through plans that draw on synergies among the Balance Sheets of capable State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and the private sector.”

According to him, government was also considering the possibility of a second line of long term cocoa bonds by COCOBOD to fund its long term capital and infrastructure needs.

More Kayayei For Kumasi

THE NUMBERof head porters, popularly known as ‘Kayayei,’ in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, has increased significantly in recent times.

The head porters could be seen in areas such as Adum, Kejetia Bus Terminal, Alabar, Central Market and Dr. Mensah Area.

The young head porters migrated from the northern part of the country to Kumasi in search of greener pastures. Sadly after carrying the loads, these young head porters are paid paltry amount of money by the customers.

25 Stars To Rock MTN Saminifest

THE ORGANISERS of the much-awaited Saminifest, which is slated for the Trade Fair Centre on December 6, have announced the names of the top Ghanaian artistes who have been invited to perform at the event.

According to the organisers, the event would bring together music lovers, particularly Samini fans all over the country, to celebrate his astounding works and also showcase classic performances from leading Ghanaian artistes.

The organisers also added that all the artistes billed to perform at the event have all promised to put up splendid performances.
