WASSCE Students Fight Over Boyfriend

                                           

DAILY GUIDE has gathered that two female final year students of Adiembra Senior High School near Sekondi in the Western Region, nearly missed yesterday’s Integrated Science paper of the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for fighting over a boyfriend.

The two students were said to have been in at loggerheads over the boyfriend in the farming community for some time now.

They were reportedly engaged in a serious brawl on Sunday prior to the beginning of the examination yesterday.

According to sources, the fisticuffs involving the two female students resulted in blade wounds on one of them.

It was also gathered that the injured was stuck in her bed at her hostel as the two were being investigated by the school’s authorities.

Passengers just managed to scramble to safety in time when the bus they were travelling in was suddenly swallowed by a sinkhole.

The dramatic moment was caught on video as the bus was fell into the crater and was swept away by rushing floodwater.

Authorities say no-one was hurt in the incident. It happened on a road near the cities of Itaitube and Ruropolis in northern Brazil.

Test Drive for 'Made in Ghana' Kantanka Police Vehicle

                   

Kantanka had presented the Ghana Police with one of their made in Ghana vehicles, for police activities last week. The police later did a test drive on the vehicle to check its road-worthiness. We got the video of the test drive session the vehicle was taken through.

28 ‘Sakawa boys’ arrested in Tamale

        
Twenty-eight persons suspected to be involved in Internet fraud, ‘Sakawa’ in the Tamale metropolis have been arrested. The suspected Sakawa boys, also referred to as Shattas in the Tamale metropolis, were arrested during joint police and military swoops at the Moshi Zongo and other areas in the metropolis on Saturday night

Even though a police source that confirmed the arrest to the Daily Graphic in Tamale failed to give details on the operations, it is believed to be part of efforts by the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) to clamp down on the rise of cyber fraud activities among the youth in Tamale.

The source said some of the boys who managed to escape arrest have fled the city but indicated that the security agencies would not relent in their efforts to weed out miscreants in the metropolis.

Clamp down

At a public function last week, the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, gave a hint that the Regional Security Council was going to clamp down on the operations of the ‘Sakawa Boys.’ The swoop is, therefore, believed to be part of the strategy by the security to deal with such criminal activities which is tarnishing the image of the city.

Iwan releases “Sex Tape”

Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall artiste, Abdul Razak Issahaku popularly known in showbiz as Iwan is out with a new single dubbed “Sex Tape”.

Iwan disclosed that the song reflects on the increasing rate at which sex tapes are released through social media.  He described the act of recording a sex scene and circulating it as an awful practice. 

The musician is demanding an end to the act which is rearing its ugly head in Ghanaian media circles.

According to him young people mostly get influenced through social media because of its easy accessibility so such immoral acts must be clamped down.

Speaking to XFMNewscenter, the dancehall artiste emphasized how important it is for him as a musician to voice out against such an appalling practice.

The artiste also stressed that there must be laws in this country to serve as guidelines for people who use social media.

Strange: Bird 'turns' into human being in Dodowa

         

The Dodowa township in Accra has been thrown into a state of pandemonium after a bird has reportedly turned into a human being.

An eyewitness who spoke to Citi News disclosed that “around 6am today, a security man shot at a bird using a catapult.”

“The bird, he said, fell to the ground and transformed into a human being,” he added.

The man, reported to be in his early thirties was then sent to the Dodowa Police Station.

The situation has attracted hundreds of people in the town to the Dodowa Divisional Police Station where the suspected “transformed man” has been detained.

“The watchman catapulted a bird on a high tension pole, the bird fell down and turned into a human being. So they brought the human being to the Dodowa Police station,” he said.

‘I WAS ADDICTED TO PORN AND WOULD MASTURBATE SIX DAILY’

                           

We all Have our own addiction, which we battle with it, but not all of us has that courage to overcome it and speak out publicly.

Meet Oghosa Ovienrioba, 22,  who would lock herself in a room and masturbate herself between five and six times a day and watched 400 hours of pornography on the Internet Mirror.co.uk.

Oghosa, now a successful law graduate and vlogger, has spoken out about the addiction that almost ruined her life.

Oghosa said: ‘When I uploaded that video in February, I had no idea how phenomenal the response would be.

‘I received hundreds of heartwarming comments from women who had been going through the same thing for years.

‘Lots of people don’t think girls can suffer a porn addiction, but it’s a problem for both sexes. I hope I can help others out there – talking about your problem is the first step.’

Oghosa, from London, was just 14-years-old when her addiction began, in 2006.

She says porn was dangerously easy for her to access.

She said: ‘It was out of curiosity and it was just a simple Google search for me to get hold of an adult movie.

‘When I first watched it, my reaction was shock. But gradually over time, that shock becomes excitement and I would use any porn that I could get my hands on.’

But soon her addiction began to spiral dangerously out of control.

Oghosa said: ‘I was watching it so much that I started to get bored by the ‘normal’ soft porn movies.

‘I wasn’t getting the buzz that I felt when I first saw it – in fact, I was almost desensitised to that content.

‘I went from watching soft pornography to dodgier stuff to get the kick I needed.’

Her addiction briefly stopped when she was 18 and had a six-month relationship with a boy.

But when she started university and found herself single again, the downward spiral of her addiction recommenced.

She said: ‘I was at a university and alone in a new city. I guess it was a trigger and I just went downhill from there.

‘For a period of two to three years, I was watching porn on a daily basis and sometimes masturbating over six times per day. It was all I could think about.

‘I didn’t see people as people anymore – they were just sex objects to me.

‘The simplest things could set me off such as a girl unbuttoning her blouse or a boy taking his top off. Everything made me want more.

‘I would sit in my room alone for hours, with the lights off, watching porn. I felt lonely and ashamed of myself.’

When Oghosa turned 21, she found Christianity and knew it was time to confront her problem.

She said: ‘I spoke to a friend about my addiction and that was a huge release for me. It was a first step.

‘Talking about it made me realise how much of a problem it was – you’re only as sick as the secrets you keep.

‘As a Christian, you have to be quite controlled about what you let into your heart, in terms of what you see and do.

She continued: ‘So now, I don’t read sex scenes in books and I don’t listen to over sexualised music.

‘There are some artists that just sing about sex and it’s best to avoid that, I also try to avoid inappropriate programmes on TV late at night.’

14 year old girl gets killed in the name of a Facebook fight

    

A 14-year-old girl was shot and killed in Birmingham, Alabama, on Friday night after a fight that started on Facebook turned deadly.

Police say Kierra’onna Rice was one of a group of girls who agreed to meet in a park for a planned brawl, Al.com reports.

But the fight, which allegedly started weeks ago on Facebook, ended up claiming the 14-year old’s life when two male suspects fired into the crowd of feuding girls, according to WIAT.

“This was an absolutely senseless killing,” Birmingham Police Lt. Sean Edwards told Al.com. “They took it upon themselves to fire recklessly into a crowd.”

The two males, ages 17 and 19, were taken into custody by police after the shooting. They are not being identified, though WIAT reports that one of them was dating one of the girls that fought the victim.
Two others were taken to the hospital with injuries.
“Fights on the street are not fair and are extremely unpredictable,” Edwards said. “You’re agreeing to accepting the harm that may take place to you and others.”
He added that police have seen an increase in armed teenagers of late.
“We are starting to see them become more violent,” he said. “They’re using guns to solve their issues.” Last month, another teen, 13-year-old Anthony Diaz, was shot and killed over Facebook posts in Chicago.
