Musiga Pleads For Kwaw Kese

THE MUSICIANS union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has called for leniency in the case in which ace hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese, has been remanded in custody for allegedly smoking substance believed to be wee in public.

The Union has also expressed its appreciation for the support displayed for the hiplife artiste especially the Free Kwaw Kese campaigns taking place online.

MUSIGA has been monitoring the developments following Kwaw’s arrest on Saturday November 22 in Kumasi and would like to thank all, who, in various ways, have expressed their solidarity with Kwaw as well as calling for his freedom.

Since his arrest, the Ashanti Regional Branch Chairman of MUSIGA, Aboagye Dacosta, has led a delegation to visit him and has assured the leadership of MUSIGA of his well being.

In addition to that, various top artistes have been in Kumasi to visit Kwaw. Meanwhile, his lawyer is working feverishly to secure a bail for him when he reappears in court on December 8.

It is in this light that MUSIGA is calling for leniency when the case is called in court again. Much as MUSIGA is against the use of illicit drugs by artistes, they are appealing to the judge handling the case to temper justice with mercy and consider the social contributions of the artiste in handling his case.
